Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit

02/25/10

Jim and I have been having trouble getting Jocelyn to sleep through the night, so when I found Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit online, we decided to give it a try.  All I have to say is that it is awesome!  Not only did Jocelyn sleep through the night both Tuesday and Wednesday night, without being fed right before bed, but she also went down for 2-3 hour naps with no hassle! We love the Magic Sleepsuit!  We just wish we would have found out about it sooner!

I don't have any pictures of Jocelyn in her sleepsuit yet, so for now, here are a couple pictures of the sleep suit from the Magic Sleepsuit website!

The Sleepsuit comes in 2 sizes (small and lare),
and 3 colors (yellow, pink, and blue)!

6 Month Check Up!

2/22/10

Jocelyn had her 6 month check up today!  Can you beleive that she is 15 lbs, that's more than double her birth weight, and 26" long!?!  The best part is that the doctor is very with her progress!  She was also very pleased to hear how much Jocelyn loves her solid foods, and even reccommended starting to give her Cheereos and water in a sippy cup!  Wow!  My baby girl is definitley growing up! It's so sad but so fun and exciting at the same time!

The only concern that the doctor had was for Jocelyn's labial adhesions.  They have not changed at all since last time when it was reccommended that we start using vasaline, so this time she prescribed an estrogen cream to be used twice a day, as well as using vasaline on the diaper changes when not using the cream.  We will be using the cream for 2 weeks in hope that things will fix themselves.  If they do, we are to continue using vasaline, although sparingly, to prevent the adhesions from reoccurring.  If they don't, we will call the doctor back and figure out where to go from there.

Well, that's all I have to share!  Jocelyn's next appointment will be her 9 month check up in May!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Jocelyn!

2/21/10

My baby girl is growing too fast!  How do I make her stop!?!  I know I've said this before, but I will say it again... I can't believe Jocelyn is 6 months already!  I really wish she could stay little for always, but at the same time I love watching her grow and learn!  It seems like everyday she learns something new!  She still isn't crawling, but then again she isn't really rolling over yet either.  She CAN roll over, but that would require putting her on the floor on her back or tummy, which she just does not like at all!  I'm not worried, she will in her own time!

She has also become Ms. Grabby Grab Grab!  She reaches for anything and everything especially food, and once she gets ahold of it, to her mouth it goes!  A couple weeks ago we went to Chili's for dinner and Jim was holding her in his lap.  When our food arrived, he let go of her hand so he could move his plate a little further away, but before he got a chance, her little grabby hands were covered on his ribs and covered in BBQ sauce!  Crazy baby!  We can't help but laugh at her .. I mean WITH her though!  =0)

She has also recently started babbling and squawking alot!  It is pretty funny!  We are always asking her what she's yelling at, or telling to to stop yelling at us!  I have been making sure to sing the Momma Momma song with her, I made it up, to make sure she says Momma first instead of Dada!  =0)

The past 6 months have been simply amazing!  I love haveing sucha beautiful and bright daughter!  I can't wait to find out what the next 6 months have to offer!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Jocelyn!

Rubber Ducky Time!

2/17/10

Since Jocelyn is now too big for her newborn bath tub, yet still too small for the regular tub, we decided to get her her own blow up tub... a rubber ducky tub!  It is so cute and she fits in it perfectly!  The best part is that when squeeze the beek, it quacks!  =0)

Mom, do you really have to take pictures of me in the tub?

Happy 1st Valentine's Day!

2/14/10

We didn't do anything special today, we just hung out at home, but Jocelyn got all dressed up in her hearts anyway!  And she was super nice and slept through dinner so Jim and I could enjoy some alone time!  thank you BabyCakes! (Bows curtious of Grandma Tammy and Grandma Jan!  Thank you!)

Happy Baby!

Jocelyn's First Swim Class

2/8/2010

Jocelyn had her very first swim class today!  And she LOVED it!  In the class we started with introducing them to the water, it was very warm, the we introduced them to the front and back floats, and also worked onfront and back kicks!  Jocelyn did very well and really got to kicking her legs by herself and started splashing with her arms!  =0)   She was so cute!  I can't wait to take her again on Wednesday!  And lucky us, my grandpa decided to come and watch and took lots of pictures!

Ready and excitedly waiting for class to start!

Slowly entering the water!

Patently waiting fo the rest of the class to arrive!

Working on Jocelyn's back float!

Hmmm... do i want to play with that toy or not?

Working on our front kicks!

(I was making her kick her legs while saying "kick, kick, kick," for her to associate the word with the action!)

Meet Ella!

2/1/2010

Ella is Jocelyn's favorite toy!  That crazy bunny can make Jocelyn smile and laugh like crazy!  Especially when she sings her "play" song... "Oh I like to walk, and I like to skip, and I even like to run, but of all the different ways to move, here's my favorite one: hopping here, hopping there, hopping, hopping everywhere..."!  LOL  Thank you for the GREAT Christmas gift Auntie Dar!  I'm not really sure where I came up with the name for the bunny, so don't ask! =0)

Stock Show!

1/22/2010

Today Jim took the day off and we headed down to the National Western Stock Show!  It worked out great because the weather was perfect!  And Jocelyn loved sitting in her front carrier as Daddy carried her!  We started off by heading to the Pony Trails to say hello to the Denver Mounted Patrol!  It was great seeing Sara, my supervisor when I worked at the unit, my friend Jessica, Lucky, Magic, and Copper!  I really miss working with all of them!

From there we headed to the Stock Yard where we saw some cows and some yaks, and we even were able to taste some yak meat!  It was pretty good, but both Jim and I decided that it is definitley not something we could eat very often!  On our way out of the Stock Yard we stopped to watch a few Border Collies compete as they tried to herd some cows into a trailer!  It was pretty interesting to watch!

Next we went to the Hall of Education where we stopped to say hello to the people Jim works with at the USDA-APHIS, saw the guinea pigs, rabbits, and chickens, stopped to have lunch, and just wandered around!  It was fun to get out of the house and to take my baby to one of my favorite places to go when I grew up!  I can't wait to take her again next year when she will be able to have more fun!
