Today Jim took the day off and we headed down to the National Western Stock Show! It worked out great because the weather was perfect! And Jocelyn loved sitting in her front carrier as Daddy carried her! We started off by heading to the Pony Trails to say hello to the Denver Mounted Patrol! It was great seeing Sara, my supervisor when I worked at the unit, my friend Jessica, Lucky, Magic, and Copper! I really miss working with all of them!
From there we headed to the Stock Yard where we saw some cows and some yaks, and we even were able to taste some yak meat! It was pretty good, but both Jim and I decided that it is definitley not something we could eat very often! On our way out of the Stock Yard we stopped to watch a few Border Collies compete as they tried to herd some cows into a trailer! It was pretty interesting to watch!
Next we went to the Hall of Education where we stopped to say hello to the people Jim works with at the USDA-APHIS, saw the guinea pigs, rabbits, and chickens, stopped to have lunch, and just wandered around! It was fun to get out of the house and to take my baby to one of my favorite places to go when I grew up! I can't wait to take her again next year when she will be able to have more fun!
