Surprising Uncle Curtis!

10/30/09

Every night before a home game, the CU Buffs have a "Parade on Pearl Street," so since we have never been to one and we haven't seen Uncle Curtis in while, we decided to go and surprise him!  He was very surprised and very happy to see Jocelyn!  It was cold but we had fun and can't wait to go visit Uncle Curtis again!

The Buff Bus is here!

Two Months Old!

10/21/09

I can't even believe my little piglet is two months old today!  Wow!  She has grown and changes so much from day one, but it has been so fun to see her become so much more alert, to see personality start to come out, and to see her smile!  Oh how we love those beautiful smiles of pure joy!  So precious!

Anyway, we had her two month follow up appointment and we are happy to say that she is healthy!  She weighs a whopping 10lbs 9oz and measures 22 1/4" long!  Doctor was very pleased to hear how much Jocelyn is eating, how well she is sleeping, her amount of smiles, and that she will follow you with her eyes when you move across the room.  However, she was concerned that there was some fluid behind both of her ear drums.  She said it could either be an ear infection or it could be that it is spit up from her possibly spitting up at night.  She said her gut was telling her it was spit up, but just to be safe she wrote a perscription for amoxicillin.  We have an appointment in three weeks, to follow up and see if there have been anychanges.  Doctor also said to keep a watch out for a fever and any other "odd" changes.  If Jocelyn has any, we are supposed to bring her in to have her checked.

Another sad part of our appointment today was that Jocelyn got her immunizations.  She vaccinated for diphteria, tetanus, pertussis, hib (influenza), pollio, and her second hepatitis b.  She did not like this at all!  When the first shot went in, her eyes got really wide and then the screaching cry begain!  Poor baby!  Luckily though, one of the vaccines was oral so she only had to have three shots since the diphteria, tetanus, and pertussis were combined into one shot.  We were all happy that she didn't have to have six shots!

Here are some pictures of Jocelyn over the past month:

Crazy Hair & Sillyness!

10/18/09

After our trip to the park we were all exhausted and took a nice nap and when we woke up we all felt much better and rejuvinated, especaly Jocelyn!  Not only was she full of smiles and sillyness, but she had crazy hair to match!  Only her cuteness could pull off hair that crazy and make it adorable!  (Sorry the pictures are alittle blurry...she wouldn't stop moving!)

Another Park Adventure!

10/18/09

We decided it would be fun to have a picnic lunch at the park today, so that's what we did!  It was really windy, and even though the dogs were being a pain in the bum, we all really enjoyed being outside!  Plus Jocelyn looked adorable in her hat and matching pants!

Play Mat Fun!

10/17/09

Today was the first day tht Jocelyn really enjoyed her play mat!  I propped her so that she could look into the mirror and she thought that was pretty darn cool!  She starred at her self like she was the prettiest thing she'd ever seen, which of course she is, and got her legs kickin' which caused the lights and music to turn on!  It was loads of fun!

TV Fan!

10/16/09

I needed to run upstairs real quick today so instead of taking Jocelyn, I proped her up on the couch and turned on the tv.  When I came back down her eyes were fixed on the tv.  She was so cute!  I think she sat by herself on the couch for a good 20 minutes, and the only time she got upset was when I sat next to her and was blocking her view.  Once I moved she was perfectly fine again!  Silly baby!

Pink Coat Smiles!

10/14/2009

This weekend was very chilly, so for fun I decided to put Jocelyn in her pink coat to see how well it fit her and to see if she even liked it.  Her coat is a size 3-6 months and is soo big on her!  Her arms and legs barely fit in the arms and legs of the coat, but that didn't stop her smiles!  She loves her pink coat!  Yay!!!

Another Doctor's Appointment

10/7/2009

So today Jocelyn has officially been sick for 1 week and 1 day.  I thought she was getting better, but when she woke up this morning with a very snotty nose again and a bright green eye booger in her right eye, I decided it was time to call the doctor again.  I explained everything to the receptionist over the phone, and after going to talk to a doctor in the back, she told me they reccommended I bring her.  So that's what I did.  After getting her checked over, basically they told me that the cause of her eye boogers is from her right tear duct not being opened yet.  Apparently this is common and it should open soon.  As for her snotty nose and conjestions, they said this is also common in newborns.  They don't know the exact reason, but they said art of it has to do with the weather.  To help her breathe better I need to make sure and keep a humidifier in her room and they also suggested getting saline nasal spray.  They said the best way to use this is by putting one or two drops in eac nostril before each feeding.  Reason being is that infants take a deep breathe before swollowing, allowing her to also swollow her "nastyness" so that she can breathe eadier while eating.  I don't fully understand this, but so far it seems to be working.  I just hope it goes away soon!

Daddy's Girl

10/1/09

Jocelyn loves spending time with her Daddy and is always full of smiles with him!  Although she can't say it, I know she looks forward to when he gets home from work. On Monday she even laughed for the first time when he layed on the bed next to her!  It was so adorable and moment that Jim and I will both cherish forever!  Here are some pictures of Jocelyn and her Daddy yesterday afternoon.

Sick Baby

10/01/09

Sadly Baby Jo has been sick for the past few days.  Tuesday morning she woke up with a watery/goupy eye and a snotty nose.  I called the doctor to see what I could give her to make her feel better, but unfortunately she is still to small for any cold medication.  All I have been able to do is clean her eye with a warm wet washcloth and keep her nose clear using the "booger bulb."  This morning her eye looks alot better, but her nose is still really stuffy.  She has been sleepng a ton, so we hope this means she will be better soon!
