One Month Old!

9/21/09

I can't believe Jocelyn was born a month ago!  She is growing and changing so much!  Not only is she eating more, but she is awake for longer periods of time and is definitely more verbal!  Her 0-3 months sized cloths are still too big but it seems that each day her newborn cloths are getting more snug.  We love watching our little piglet grow but at the same time we want her to stay little forever!  Happy one month birthday Jocelyn!  We love you!

4 Week Check-Up

9/17/09

Today we took Jocelyn to her four week check-up at her new doctor's office.  We are much happier with this office and her doctor.  It was by far a more welcoming atmosphere and they were definitly more willing to answer explain and explain any questions we had.  Thank you Aunt Cove for reccommending them!  Anyway, Jocelyn is doing great and she was very happy that she didn't have to have any bloodwork done!  She weighs a whopping 8lbs 10oz and measures 21 1/2in long, which places her in the 25 percentile for weight and 60 percentile for length!  Jim and I had been conserned with how much and how often Jocelyn hs been having the hiccups, but we were reassured that this is not something to worry about because mjority of newborns get the hiccups and they should go away or at least lessen dramatically by 3 months of age.  We also asked when to expect her stork bites to diminish, but because all babies are different we didn't  really get an answer, although she did mention that majoority od stork bites are completely gone by 18 months.  Her next appointment will be her 8 week check u, scheduled on October 21st!  We'll keep you updated!

Play Time!

9/9/09

I tried placing Jocelyn on her play mat to see if it would cheer her up, and it worked!  She loved it!  She even found out that if she stretched out her arm, the hanging giraff would magically make noise which was pretty cool!

2 Week Check-up

9/4/09

Today Jocelyn had her 2 week check-up and it went very well!  She is getting so big and already weighs 7lbs 9oz, and measures 19 1/2in long!  Our pediatrician was very pleased with her weight gain and was surprised at how strong Jocelyn was!  The worst part of the appointment was Jocelyn hving to get her foot pricked for blood work.  Poor little girl didn't like that at all!  All in all it was a good appointment for Jocelyn, and although we were happy the peditrician supported us giving up on breastfeeding, neither Jim nor I cared for her or the nurse and have decied to searc for a new pediatricin for Jocelyn.  As of now her next appointment is scheduled for the 18th when she will be 1 month old, but hopefully we will find and schedule a new appointment with a new pediatrician before then!

Day Out With Mom!

8/31/09

Jocelyn and I had our first Mother/Daughter day today! We didn't do anything big, just ran a few arrains but it was sure nice to get out of the house! Our first stop was picking up our cloth diaper order, where Jocelyn met Robin and little Levi, and Lindsey and baby Audrey! We hung out and talked for almost 2 hours! Little Levi was so cute and kept trying to play ball with Jocelyn even though she was asleep in her carseat! I think she slept the whole time except when it was time to eat. =0) I really enjoyed spending some time with other moms nd talking about baby stuff! After leaving Robin's house we tried stopping by Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa's house to say hi. Unfortunately no one was home so we headed to the grocery store. Jocelyn was asleep the whole time, until we got to the register when she decided to wake up and be fussy! Luckily the cashier was fast and we were able to get out quickly before making a big scene! All in all it was a good day and I can't wait until we both enjoy our mother/daughter days!
